Vietnamese Pork-Stuffed Fried Tofu with Tomato Sauce

The recipe below for crispy and filled tofu with tomato sauce can be described as a meaty version of the well-known Vietnamese recipe of tofu cooked in tomatoes sauce (or Dau Hu Don thit sot ca Chua).

This version is fantastic and most likely the one I’ve had the most of, but the one you’ll create in this article is so substantial that you won’t need a meal or side dish to accompany it.

To admit it, I haven’t been particularly picky about the tomatoes for this recipe. I favor plum Roma tomatoes due to its dimensions and texture, and the color is always improved by adding tomato paste. The flavor is balanced perfectly when you alter the seasonings, and I’ve never encountered any problems. My favorite time to cook the recipe would be when there are tomatoes that have grown in containers at my back.

Begin by cooking tofu Otherwise, it will crumble within your reach. Tofu can be cooked by yourself, or purchase some already-fried tofu to reduce time. There’s a type of tofu I’ve had pre-fried that’s extremely light and thin. It was like it was more of a fried exterior than actual tofu. It was decent however, it wasn’t as great as the more dense, heavier kind.

For stuffing the tofu with food, simply cut a small slice into the middle and then stuff them with the mixture of pork. Cut it to put in the amount of filling you’d like without making the tofu explode at the edges.

This recipe can easily be doubled as well if you’ve got more people to feed or want to have more leftovers. I prefer topping mine with chile flake and serve it with rice as a breakfast or lunch or even dinner.
